Inside Line Promotions – PARAGOULD, Ark. (July 18, 2017) – Derek Hagar swept the night last Saturday at Crowley’s Ridge Raceway, where he captured a heat race before claiming his fifth main event of the season.
“We had a good draw that put us in a good position for the heat race and that set up our night,” he said.
Hagar started on the outside of the front row in his heat race and he led all 10 laps to garner the win. That ranked him second in overall points, which lined him up on the outside of the front row for the 20-lap main event.
“We had a couple of restarts at first and had to go back double file,” he said. “I finally got the edge on the last restart. We had a really, really nice car. The race track was pretty racy as well so it made for a fun night.”
Hagar led the distance to net his second win of the month. It also marked his fourth consecutive podium finish and his 14th top five in the last 18 races.
He will venture to Missouri this weekend to compete on Saturday at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon and on Sunday at Double X Speedway in California with the ASCS Warrior Region.
